Total lunar eclipse to be visible across Southern California

Stargazers across Southern California can step outside, early Tuesday morning, to watch a total lunar eclipse turn the moon a coppery red. Experts at Griffith Observatory say, the rare “blood moon” effect happens when Earth’s shadow blocks direct sunlight, leaving only a reddish glow.
